AUTHOR GUIDELINES

“JIGNASA”, the first volume of the International Journal of Commerce & Management (JIJCM) is a double blind peer reviewed Academic research Journal, which is an Annual publication that offer insights and perspectives, extended knowledge and understanding of inter-disciplinary research in the area of Social Sciences, Management, Commerce, Economics, Banking, Financial Services, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management or other Behavioral Sciences. The mission of the journal is to foster free and rapid knowledge sharing among the entire research community. The journal is extremely useful to academicians, managers, consultants, research scholars and students who are interested in the latest theoretical and practical advances and innovations in the field of Commerce & Management. The journal is also helpful for organizations by providing a context for change in the organizational strategies, based on the changing trends, through the thoughtful and intellectual contributions of the research community.

The journal publishes articles, research papers, abstracts of doctoral dissertations, Contents of articles published in journals, book reviews, abstracts of books recently published, an extensive bibliography on any one of the areas related to Commerce and Management.

EDITORIAL OBJECTIVES

  • To bridge the gap between management theories and actual practices by bringing academicians and industry practitioners on to a common platform.
  • To encourage exchange of ideas, concepts, their applicability and promote problem-solving capabilities through an exposure to an international platform.
  • To promote knowledge and experience sharing and encourage cross-functional research to boost management thinking and development.
  • To promote a wider scope for publication of theoretical/empirical/applied research articles, case studies, monographs, book reviews and doctoral dissertations.

EDITORIAL CORRESPONDENCE

Manuscripts are invited from researchers, academicians and professionals from all over the world for publication in the journal. The journal publishes both empirical and conceptual research, related to Commerce and Management.

We firmly believe that your contributions will open up new vistas of research and enrich the intellectual content of the journal. All correspondence relating to articles, research papers etc should be submitted to the chief editor at the mailing address mlajignasa@gmail.com

All articles, research papers, book reviews, etc., should be original and should not have been published elsewhere. Originality of the paper is to be duly certified (with signatures) by all the authors, in the declaration form attached. All submissions will be screened by the editorial board and sent for double blind review by experts. Authors shall receive reports from the editors about the acceptance and further changes to be made if any.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Kindly follow the guidelines mentioned below.

In the subject line of your e-mail please write "JIJCM submission"

  1. Articles are accepted in PDF format.
  2. Contributors should adhere to the Article format of the journal.
  3. Submission of manuscripts as an e-mail attachment should be sent to the Editorial Office at: mlajignasa@gmail.com . A manuscript number will be mailed to the corresponding author within 72 hours.
  4. Corresponding author should clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing, publication and post-publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
  5. Brief professional biography of each author (not more than 70 words)
  6. Kindly do not mention the author(s) name or any other information in the manuscript.

ARTICLE FORMAT

  1. The title of the article should be bold, centered and typed in capital letters in a 14 point Times New Roman Font.
  2. The author(s) details i.e., full name, designation, name of the organization, city, pin, state, country, e-mail id, alternate email id, contact details i.e. mobile/landline phone numbers, in 11-point Times New Roman should be centered below the title.
  3. All manuscripts must be accompanied by a brief abstract. Abstract including key words must not exceed 200 words. It should be in fully justified and italicized text. It should highlight research background, methodology; major finding(s) and conclusion in brief. Author/s must mention 4-6 keywords. Key words should be listed alphabetically, separated by commas, and full stop at the end.
  4. Manuscripts must be no longer than 10-15 pages (all inclusive). It should be single spaced, in A4 sized page setup, Times New Roman font, 12 point with 1 inch margin on all four sides. It must be clearly written without any spelling or grammatical errors.
  5. All tables and figures should be numbered and incorporated in the body of the paper.
  6. All the equations used in the research paper/article should be consecutively numbered in parentheses, horizontally-centered with equation number placed at the right.
  7. Define abbreviations that are not standard in this field in a footnote, to be placed on the first page of the article. Such abbreviations that are unavoidable in the abstract must be defined at their first mention, as well as in the footnote. Ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the article.
  8. Include a page header(also known as the "running head") at the top of every page. To create a page header/running head, insert page numbers flush right. Then type "TITLE OF YOUR PAPER" in the header flush left using all capital letters.
  9. The authors should list all references alphabetically at end of the paper.


REFERENCES

  1. It must be single spaced, and at the end of the manuscript. Each reference should be hanging 0.25” from the left.
  2. References when used in the text, enclose the citation in brackets, using author’s surname, followed by comma and the year of publication, and arranged chronologically (Boyd, 1992; Kotler, 2000).
  3. In case authors’ names are part of the text, only quote the year of publication in brackets. Wong,(1995) reported that…Kotler et al. (2007) found that…..
  4. Citation in text -Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text.
  5. Reference formatting - References for journals, proceedings of conferences, books, website, and dissertation should follow the order given below:
    • References should be written in the order of - author(s) name(s), journal title/book title, chapter title/article title, year of publication, volume number/book chapter and the pagination must be present. The following examples may be noted:
    • List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', and so on placed after the year of publication.
    • Examples: Reference to a journal publication: Van der Geer, J., Hanraads, J. A. J., & Lupton, R. A. (2010). The art of writing a scientific article. Journal of Scientific Communications, 163, 51–59.
    • Reference to a book: Strunk, W., Jr., & White, E. B. (2000). The elements of style. (4th ed.). New York: Longman, (Chapter 4).
    • Reference to a chapter in an edited book: Mettam, G. R., & Adams, L. B. (2009). How to prepare an electronic version of your article. In B. S. Jones, & R. Z. Smith (Eds.), Introduction to the electronic age (pp. 281–304). New York: E-Publishing Inc.
    • Web references: The full URL should be given along with the date when the reference was last accessed. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

CHANGES TO AUTHORSHIP

This policy concerns the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship of accepted manuscripts:

Before the accepted manuscript is published: Requests to add or remove an author, or to rearrange the author names, must be sent to the Chief Editor from the corresponding author of the accepted manuscript and must include: (a) the reason the name should be added or removed, or the author names rearranged and (b) written confirmation (e-mail) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. Addition or removal of authors requires confirmation from the author being added or removed. Requests that are not sent by the corresponding author will be forwarded by the Chief Editor to the corresponding author, who must follow the procedure as described above. Note that: publication of the accepted manuscript is suspended until authorship has been agreed, upon.

After the accepted manuscript is published: Any requests to add, delete, or rearrange authors’ names in an article published shall not be entertained

MAJOR PAPER SECTIONS

Your manuscript should include four major sections: the Title PageAbstractMain Body, and References.

Divide your article into clearly defined (as given below) and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

Main body should include

  • Introduction - covering adequate background of the research problem, significance of the study, literature survey, research gap, conceptual model, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, hypothesis and scope of the study.
  • Research Methodology - Provide sufficient details with regard to research location, methodology, sources of data, sampling design, data collection instruments, field work, plan of analysis
  • Analysis & interpretation of the data
  • Major findings of the study with discussion.
  • Summary, Conclusion and recommendations
  • Scope for further research

Appendices (if any) - If more than one appendix, they should be named as A, B etc. This is followed by references as per the format outlined above.

AFTER ACCEPTANCE

Proof correction

All instructions for proof corrections will be given in the email that we send to the corresponding author. It is important to ensure that all corrections are sent back to us in one communication. Please check carefully before replying, as inclusion of any subsequent corrections cannot be guaranteed. Proofreading is solely the author's responsibility.
